Annie Lee Webster

Annie Lee Webster, 88, formerly of Frankfort, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on February 2, 2024. She was the youngest child born to the late Elmer and Mae (Wainscott) Webster of the Duckers community in Woodford County, Kentucky. Annie spent thirty-two years working for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Revenue Cabinet. She met many wonderful friends during her time in government, some of which became life-long traveling companions. One very special co-worker, Ada, became her niece, after a blind date with her nephew, Lonnie! She was a long-term member of The Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. Beginning in her mid-twenties, Annie volunteered as a GA Leader, and later served as the Sunday School secretary for many years following. She loved the Lord and loved her church family. She took great pleasure in the church’s growth under the leadership of Pastor, Todd Lester. Annie loved her friends immensely and considered them family. They felt the same. She enjoyed lunches, celebrations, and many visits to her home over the years. Although she never married, or had children of her own, she was warmly referred to as “Nana” and happily served as an honorary grandmother to Rebecca Blackwell Wilson and Ryan Nance. They were so very special to her, and she talked of them often. Although Annie loved calling Kentucky home, in 2021, she moved to Blowing Rock, North Carolina to be closer to the great-nieces who were in charge of her care. Lori and Tara loved having her so close. She enjoyed many outings exploring the mountains, driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway, or lunch and shopping with her great-great niece, Chloe. Annie is survived by sister-in-law, Kathleen (Flinchum) Webster of Frankfort, nephews, Lonnie (Ada) Webster of Blowing Rock, NC, Mike (Susan) Webster of Lawrenceburg, KY, Mike Mitchell and niece, Dianne (Jerry) Stephens, both of Frankfort, KY. Additionally, she is survived by several great-nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she is pre-deceased by her siblings, brother, Arvin (Christine) Webster, sister, Hattie (Ralph) Rice, and brother, Johnny Webster. Annie will finally return to her beloved Kentucky. A funeral will be held on February 10, 2024, 10:30AM, at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home of Frankfort. Family will receive friends prior to the service at 9:30AM. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church - Missions, 480 Duckers Rd, Midway, KY 40347.
