Mary Chisholm Dawson
July 10, 1935 - September 14, 2009
Mary Chisholm Dawson, 74, Frankfort, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital, Hospice Care Center, Lexington, KY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Todd Lester will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday 9:30 a.m. until funeral hour. Arrangements are being handled by LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Mary was a native of Pleasureville, Ky, and was born on July 10, 1935. She retired from South Central Bell after 29 years of service. She was employed by Liberty Telephone for eight years. Mary was a member of Telephone Pioneers and Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church where she sang in choir and attended the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. She will be truly missed by all the lives she touched. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Howard Ray Dawson; sons, Steve (Julie) Dawson and Randy Dawson all of Frankfort; sister, Betty Grubbs of Alamo, Tx; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Seth and Dustin. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, David and Nora Chisholm, brother, James Chisholm and three sisters, Jessie Orhood, Naomi Ethington and Rosa Hughes. Pallbearers will be Lyle Craycroft, Willie Bourne, Charlie Barmore, Tommy Webb, Bob Satterly, Wayne Ethington, Jimmy Chisholm and Lewis Jenkins. Honorary bearers will be the Forks of Elkhorn Joy Sunday School Class and the Thornhill Baptist Church Ruth Sunday School Class.
