Leroy Alphonse Demoran, Jr.
December 26, 1944 - October 4, 2018
Leroy Alphonse Demoran, Jr., 73 of Bagdad, passed away Thursday evening at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington. Leroy was born in Frankfort to Areva Hewitt and Leroy Demoran, Sr. He lived many years in Michigan but graduated from Frankfort High School. Leroy retired after forty years of service with the Kentucky State Government. He obtained his pilot’s license in 1971 and enjoyed the comradery of fellow pilots over the years. He also enjoyed collecting and running model trains for family and friends. A Navy veteran, he was a member of VFW Post 4075 auxiliary where he participated in the Honor Guard and other activities. Leroy and his family are thankful for the visits of friends, and the caring staff at the V.A. Medical Center, Leestown Road. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leo Demoran. He is survived by his wife, Linda Bryant Demoran; brother, Mark (Becky) Demoran; son, Craig (Jessica) Demoran; daughter, Joyce Moore; grandchildren, Dalton Moore and Emma Parr; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Lincoln Denhart. Funeral services will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at LeCompte Johnson Taylor with David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pall bearers will be Jim Hutton, George Barnes, Jeff Stohman, Phil Bryan, George Heady, and John Wiebel. Honorary pall bearers will be Dalton Moore, Jamie Kays, Tom Ueltschi and Gary Bergun. Memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
