Arthur Edward Ballinger Jr.
July 10, 1952 - December 22, 2015
Arthur Edward Ballinger, Jr., died away December 22, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. A Frankfort native, he served in Vietnam with the 1st Armor Division, US Army 1970-1972. He worked twenty-six years at the Governor’s Mansion for the Department of Finance while serving five different Governors. Art enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and bleeds blue for his Kentucky Wildcats. He never met a stranger. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Cecie Harris Ballinger, Frankfort; sons, Bobby Ballinger (Jenny), Waddy, David Allen Ballinger, Frankfort, a sister; Linda Hancock, Frankfort; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Edward and Betty Jo McKigney Ballinger, Sr.; a son, Stephen Ballinger; and a brother, Harry “Butch” Ballinger; and a granddaughter, Trisha Ballinger. Makaya Ann Marie Ballinger, Benjamin Ballinger, William Lucas Ballinger, will serve as honorary pallbearers. Services will be conducted at a later time. Contributions may be made to M.S.
