Emma Hall Boyd

Emma Hall “Granny” Boyd, 95, passed this life, March 29, 2011. Emma was born August 23, 1915 in Floyd Co., KY. Emma was the daughter of the late Floyd and Laura B. Hall and the wife of the late Delzia Boyd of Floyd County. She was a former member of the Old Regular Baptist Association and a present member of the New Life Worship Center in Frankfort. In addition to her parents and her husband, Emma was also preceded in death by a son, Dawson Boyd; a grandson, Timothy Ray Boyd and a great grandson, Justin Stanley II. Her brothers, Elzie, Alvin, Richard, Namon, Ike, Abel and Ralph, along with sisters, Oleta and Edna also preceded her in death. Leaving to mourn her passing are daughters, Glema Collins (Howard), Brenda Bishop (Jackie); son, Ray Boyd (Pat) as well as grandchildren, Deborah Mitchell (Chris), David Collins (Paula), Terry Collins(Susan), Tonia Gatton (Greg), Noah Boyd (Linda), Dawson Jr. Boyd (Jill), Charles Dale Boyd and Michelle Stivers (AJ). Also great grandchildren, Shannon Smith Clark (Steve), Justin Stanley (Megan), Marissa, Amy and Calvan Mitchell, Stephanie Starkey (David), Amy Dungan (Nicholas), Christopher Collins, Matthew Collins, Tara Collins, Nikki Brown, Danny Boyd, Gavin Boyd, Donna Boyd,Amanda Boyd,and Lindsey Boyd,Tucker Stivers and Olivia Stivers, Donna, Amanda and Lindsey Boyd; as well as great great grandchildren, Sierra & Emily Smith, Noah & Emma Stanley, Madalyn and Bryan Starkey, Macy & Sadie Dungan, AJ & Austin Brown and Ava Boyd. She also left behind two special nieces who loved to travel with her, Marlene Boldman and Kay Brandt of Ohio. Granny touched the lives of all who knew her by her humor, her never ending generosity and her strong will and work ethic by gardening, canning, quilting and sewing until her recent decline in health. Visitation will be Thursday, 2:00pm – 8:00pm at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home and Friday, noon – 2:00pm at New Life Worship Center, 770 Ridgeview, Frankfort, with services following at 2:00 conducted by Rev. Gene Roberts and Rev. Jimmy Patillo. Final interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, David, Terry, Christopher and Matthew Collins, Justin Stanley, Noah, Dawson Jr and Charles Dale Boyd.
